Named in honor of iconic Philadelphia architect Frank Furness—the visionary behind this historic brick landmark at 15th & Pine—Frankie’s Summer Club is excited to launch a new chapter of creativity and community within the sacred creative grounds of what was previously Hamilton & Furness Halls.

As we brought this summer pop-up to life, our team drew inspiration not only from Furness’s enduring legacy, but also from the imaginative spirit of another Philly architectural icon: Louis Kahn. Influenced by Furness’s work, Kahn once envisioned monumental and geometric structures as an extension of the arts school (pictured above) next door (on what would become the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts site) . Though that dream was never realized, we aim to honor the imagination and the many creative minds shaped by this historic site and fantastical unbuilt dreams.
